Art in Place
Art in Place is a community art initiative, started in 2019, towards consciously integrating art into the Pacific Beach community. Art in Place includes the PB Murals project, sculptures, historical landmarks and utility box art in Pacific Beach. In March 2023, BeautifulPB received a grant in partnership with the San Diego Audubon Society, (now the San Diego Bird Alliance) to bring two new murals into the heart of Pacific Beach. This art, by muralists Hannah Daly and Todd Murphy, highlights the habitats and wildlife local to our PB coastal area. Find these two newest murals at 4629 Cass and 1160 Garnet Ave.
Art Maps
Want to take a bicycle or walking tour of all of PB’s public art/ murals? Lola Victor and Hilary Dufour created maps with the location and artist information. In addition, street artist Jennifer Nichols has created a watercolor version of the art map. Both maps are available using the links below.
Our PB Art Tour was adapted during the COVID-19 pandemic. We suggest you take the tour on your own using the Online Art Map as a guide.

Take a Walk on PB’s Wild Side
Installing creative and whimsical art into the streetscape inspires a sense of curiosity about our natural surroundings. The colorful art installations on trash cans, by profession and student artists, reflect our beautiful natural and wild neighborhood. These plaques feature animals and plants of our wetlands, streets, canyons and beaches. We feature artistic interpretations by artists young and old, and hope that their creations inspire you to learn more about PB’s Wild Side. To participate in future installations, email: arts@beautifulpb.com
PB Arts District Roots: Community Aesthetic Survey
In 2019, beautifulPB conducted a Community Aesthetic Survey to promote public art and community beautification, and sponsored the first mural contest. The generated community codeword list was used in 2020 as a springboard to inspire Aaron Glasson to create a mural in PB.
Unfortunately, the mural was never installed, however, this aesthetic survey is at the root of what is now our PB Arts District!
You can become involved in helping shape our Arts District by attending monthly meetings.
