Bio
Brian is a co-founder of SIZE – an advisory group of former c-suite executives that support 100+ late-stage technology and consumer companies. Brian and the SIZE team enjoy rolling their sleeves up and getting their hands dirty, working side-by-side with CEOs and founders to get into the weeds of their business with the goal of helping them grow, withstand uncertainty and ultimately exit.
At SIZE, Brian has served in the interim Chief Marketing Officer role for a variety of companies including Rachio and True Footage. At Rachio, Brian helped codify the company’s marketing strategy, build a new brand image, evaluate a DTC/Amazon business and launch a strong PR campaign to communicate the company’s new identity. At True Footage, Brian significantly boosted acquisition, retention and subscription rates for the company’s flagship technology product, launched a DTC appraisal marketplace, developed a strategic marketing budget, positioned the company for multi-brand growth and ultimately hired his full-time replacement.
In addition to serving in interim roles with SIZE, Brian partners with technology companies to advise a variety of Fortune 500 companies on their omni-channel technology and AI strategy. This includes creating strategies that deliver a unified, consistent and personalized customer experience across all channels both online and off-line. Brian also helps educate enterprise brands on the seamless integration of technology platforms to collect and analyze customer behavior and the cross-channel orchestration to deliver messaging to the customer wherever they are.
On the personal front, Brian has consulted for leading brands including Gopuff, Poppi, SHEIN, Zelis, VTech, Ford, Travelzoo and more. Brian currently serves on four boards and is an advisor to 40+ companies.
Prior to his entrepreneurial endeavors, Brian was most recently Vice President, Global Marketing for Expedia Group’s $5.4 billion lodging group where he led teams across digital, brand, creative, marketing technology, public relations, research and events. At Expedia, Brian built out a global marketing center of excellence with local hubs and spokes to deliver marketing services at scale. Brian and his team were focused on driving acquisition of new hotel and vacation rental partners from around the world while growing their business with existing partners.
Prior to Expedia Group, Brian spent many years in marketing and retail at DreamWorks Animation where his last role was Head of Global Retail and Loyalty Marketing. Brian worked with global retailers such as Walmart, Carrefour and Auchan on executing omni-channel marketing strategies tied to brands such as Trolls, Shrek, How To Train Your Dragon which ultimately delivered $1.2B in retail sales. At DreamWorks, Brian also served as the Head of Retail Marketing and Consumer Products for the Americas and Australia where Brian helped deliver impactful marketing programs that ultimately drove significant retail sales.
Prior to DreamWork Animation, Brian lived in India, London and Los Angeles working for the digital agency Definition 6 which had acquired The NewsMarket. Brian opened three offices in India and launched a joint-venture partnership that resulted in the company’s first two Indian clients: Tata Motors and Suzlon Energy. Brian then led the United Kingdom P&L with clients including McLaren Automotive, Tourism Ireland, Euroleague, Land Rover, Jaguar, Scottish Parliament, Visit Britain, and Honda Motors. In his last role, Definition 6 relocated Brian to Los Angeles to lead the West Coast office.
Brian holds a Masters in Finance degree from the London School of Economics and a Bachelor of Arts degree from Indiana University.
