Jim co-leads SIZE with the SIZE partners setting the long-term strategy of the business and operations, personally runs a variety of client engagements, manages the Financial Services advisory practice, and takes care of the day-to-day financial operations of the firm.
Bio
Jim has 30+ years experience in finance, strategy and operations, working with early-stage growth start-ups to Fortune 50 companies. His work includes sitting on a public-company Board, operating companies in crisis and turnarounds, international strategic planning and change management, and interim/fractional CFO and operating roles.
Jim’s consulting practice includes a wide range of advisory services, including managing all M&A activities for a PE-backed automotive aftermarket company that he assisted grow from $0 to $1.8 Billion sales in the United States as well as working with early stage companies as an Executive in Residence at the Los Angeles Cleantech Incubator. In parallel to his consulting practice, Jim has also co-founded, acquired and sold interests in a variety of companies, including but not limited to ShipMax.com, a 3PL for online retailers, The Agency for Sports Ethics, an anti-doping monitoring program for professional athletic teams, and ACC Health, a mobile medical and dental company with operations nationwide. Jim also co-founded the non-profit Early X Foundation, which worked to spin off Intellectual Property in partnership with national research laboratories into for-profit companies to stimulate the economy, reduce the tax burden on the labs and promote employment opportunities.
Prior to founding his consulting firm, Jim worked in the Business Turnaround Services Group at PriceWaterhouseCoopers, where he worked with such clients as Disney, Circle K and U-Haul.
Jim received his MBA from the Kellogg School of Management at Northwestern University and his Bachelors of Science in Accounting from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign.
